The Thistle Tartan pocket real cloth tartan notebook celebrates the thistle – the emblem and flower of Scotland. The colours are two shades of dark purple, dark green, turquoise, burgundy and charcoal. The famous prickly plant has many varieties that grow in Scotland, and the thistle has been used as an important symbol in heraldry for over 500 years.
The Scottish Traditions journal series has been created by Waverley Scotland using tartans designed by Kinloch Anderson, and it celebrates the many unique features of Scotland and its people. History, clans and tartans, the landscape of Scotland – hills, glens, mountains, lochs and rivers guarded by the many castles and strongholds of Scotland, some ancient and ruined, but each one full of history, with a story to tell. They are based on the sett of the Clan Anderson tartan. The name Anderson means son of Andrew and Kinloch means head of the loch.
